Getting Started
1What is The 7-Stage Graduate E-Journal?
+The 7-Stage Graduate E-Journal is a free digital journal companion to the ©Real People Real Journeys affirmation card set. It gives you a private space to read your daily affirmation and write your weekly reflection — one stage at a time across your graduate journey.
2Do I need to buy the physical cards to use the digital journal?
+No — the digital journal is completely free and open to every graduate. However the digital journal is designed as a companion to the physical card set. Each stage page matches one of the 7 affirmation cards. You can purchase the card set at
realpeoplerealjourneys.store.
3How do I access the digital journal from my card?
+Turn your card over. You will see a QR code on the back. Open your phone camera — just your camera, not a separate app. Point it at the QR code. A link will appear at the top of your screen. Tap it. Your stage page opens instantly.
You can also type the URL directly: journal.realpeoplerealjourneys.store
4Which stage page should I start on?
+Start on the stage that matches the card you are holding. Each card has its stage name on the front — Milestone · Courage · Healing · Resilience · Persistence · Drive · Ambition. Scan the QR code on the back and you will land directly on the correct stage page.
Colours and Palettes
5Why does the app open in the wrong colour?
+Each stage page opens in its default palette — but you can change it instantly. Look for the three coloured dots just below the page title. Tap the dot that matches your physical card:
- Black dot — Gold & Black
- Purple dot — Lilac & White
- Green dot — Sage & Cream
The digital journal saves your choice and remembers your palette every time you return.
6Can I use a different colour palette each day?
+Absolutely — that is one of the features we love most. Switch to Gold & Black on bold days, Lilac & White on reflective days and Sage & Cream on healing days. Tap the palette dot at any time to switch. The hint below the dots says it all — switch anytime to match your card or your mood.
Journal Entries
7Where are my journal entries saved?
+Your journal entries are saved in your browser on your device. They are private — only you can see them. If you clear your browser cache or switch to a different browser your entries will not appear. Always export them regularly using the Download TXT or Download CSV buttons.
8My journal entries have disappeared — what happened?
+This is almost always caused by one of three things:
- You cleared your browser cache or browsing history
- You opened the digital journal in a different browser
- You switched to a different device
Once browser storage is cleared it cannot be recovered. Export your entries regularly — tap Download TXT or Copy all entries to keep a personal backup at any time.
9Where are my entries actually saved — and can I access them on another device?
+Your reflections are saved privately in the browser you’re using, on the device you’re using — not on our servers. This means: if you open the digital journal in a different browser, switch to a different device, or clear your browsing data, your entries won’t be there and cannot be recovered.
Entering your email at the bottom of any stage page does not create a cross-device account — it simply sends you a welcome message and occasional reminders from us.
To keep your entries safe, export them regularly using the Download TXT, Download CSV, or Copy all entries buttons — then you’ll always have a personal backup, on any device.
10How do I download or export my journal entries?
+After saving at least one reflection the export options appear below your entries:
- Download TXT — plain text file
- Download CSV — spreadsheet file
- Copy all entries — copies to your clipboard
We recommend exporting at least once a month.
11How long are my journal entries stored?
+Your journal entries are stored securely for 1 year from the date your account was created. You will receive a reminder email at 60 days before expiry and again at 14 days before expiry — giving you plenty of time to download your complete journal.
Affirmations
12Why is today’s affirmation showing the wrong day?
+The digital journal uses today’s affirmation using your device’s clock. If your device date or time is incorrect the wrong affirmation may appear. Please check your device Settings · Date & Time · and make sure it is set to automatic. If the problem continues please email us with a screenshot.
13Can I read all 7 affirmations even if it is not that day?
+Yes — all 7 affirmations for Monday through Sunday are always visible on your stage page. Today’s affirmation is highlighted at the top with a diamond marker ❖ but you can read every affirmation at any time. Many graduates read all 7 on a Monday morning to set their intention for the week ahead.
Account and Privacy
14Do I need to enter my email to use the digital journal?
+No — entering your email is completely optional. You can read your affirmations, write reflections, and export your entries without ever entering an email address. Entering your email at the bottom of any stage page only sends you a welcome message and occasional reminders — it does not change how or where your entries are stored.
15Can anyone else read my journal entries?
+No. Your journal entries are completely private. We do not read them, access them or share them with anyone. They are stored securely and only accessible by you. Your reflections are yours alone.
16How do I stop receiving emails, or remove my email from your list?
+If you entered your email to receive a welcome message and reminders, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing e-journaljourneys@realpeoplerealjourneys.store with the subject "Unsubscribe me." Your journal entries are stored in your browser only and are not affected — to clear them, use your browser's settings to delete browsing data for this site.
Contribution and Pricing
17Is the digital journal really free?
+Yes — completely free. No subscription. No paywall. No hidden charges. An optional $7 contribution helps us maintain and keep this digital journal running for every graduate who needs it. It is entirely your choice and deeply appreciated.
18What does the $7 contribution cover?
+The optional $7 contribution supports the cost of running and maintaining this digital journal — hosting, storage and maintenance — for 1 year. It is not a subscription and it does not unlock any extra features. Every graduate receives the same full experience whether they contribute or not — the $7 simply helps us keep this digital journal free for everyone.
Technical Issues
19The digital journal is not loading — what do I do?
+Please try the following steps in order:
- Check your internet connection
- Refresh the page — pull down on your phone screen
- Close and reopen your browser
- Try typing the URL directly — journal.realpeoplerealjourneys.store
- Try a different browser — Chrome or Safari work best
If the app is still not loading after 30 minutes please email e-journaljourneys@realpeoplerealjourneys.store.
20The colour switcher dots are not working — what do I do?
+The palette switcher requires a modern browser. Please try the following:
- Make sure you are using Chrome or Safari on your phone
- Update your browser to the latest version
- Try closing the digital journal fully and reopening it
If the problem continues please email e-journaljourneys@realpeoplerealjourneys.store telling us which browser and device you are using.
21The fonts look wrong or the digital journal looks broken — why?
+This is usually a temporary issue with the font loading service. The digital journal still works fully — only the visual appearance is affected. Please try refreshing the page. If the issue continues after a few minutes it will usually resolve itself automatically within an hour.
22The QR code on my card is not scanning — what do I do?
+Try the following steps:
- Open your phone camera app — do not use a third party QR scanner
- Make sure you have good lighting
- Hold your phone steady about 15cm from the card
- Wait 2 to 3 seconds for the camera to focus
If the QR code still does not scan type the URL directly into your browser:
journal.realpeoplerealjourneys.store then select your stage from the landing page.
23I am using private browsing and my entries are not saving — why?
+Private browsing — also called Incognito mode — blocks the browser storage that the digital journal uses to save your journal entries. Your entries will appear to save during your session but will be gone when you close the private window.
Please use the digital journal in a regular browser window. Alternatively create a free account and your entries will be saved securely to your account instead.
24The download button is not working — what do I do?
+Some mobile browsers block automatic file downloads. Please try the following:
- Use Chrome or Safari — they handle downloads best on mobile
- If using Chrome — tap the three dots menu — check your Downloads folder
- If using Safari — the file may open in a new tab — tap Share and choose Save to Files
- Alternatively tap Copy all entries and paste into your Notes app
25My account creation failed — what do I do?
+Please check the following:
- Make sure your email address is typed correctly — no spaces
- Make sure your password is at least 8 characters
- Check your internet connection is active
- Try refreshing the page and attempting again
If account creation continues to fail please email e-journaljourneys@realpeoplerealjourneys.store with your email address and we will create your account manually.
